BADG tuned DbAbDbGb

Hey guys,

I had a cheap P strung BEAD but need it for a few songs in Db. I replaced the EAD strings with a new set (minus the E... ADG), but I'm wondering if this is gonna tweak out my neck to have a B string at such high tension. I have it set up and intonated, my action looks good but I'm gonna keep an eye on it (the neck is cheap so any change is pretty apparent immediately). Am I on a slippery slope here?

thanks,
chris

edit: looks like I can't delete my whole thread. Mods, I just realized this belongs in setup, sorry.

I had my Fernandez strung BEAD, but tuned to D for a while, month or two no problem...
I'ts been back to B for a while now, years, but now I think that the headstock is slowly bending forward!!!

Neck is straight, but the headstock seems to give in...

C# (or Db) is only two semitones up from B. You'll be fine, dude. It'll be a little tighter than usual, but if it's only for a short period, it'll be okay.

Personally, I would just capo up to the C#. Much less hassle, and cheaper than buying a new set of strings or whatever.

PS: Standard C# / Db tuning is C# F# B E / Db Gb B E. C# G# C# F# / Db Ab Db Gb is a closer to Standard Eb in tension, and may cause more problems on your 'E A D' slots than anything else.
