If you searched, you'd have you answer by now

D'Addario flatwounds are hex-core, and as a result, they're high-tension, stiff strings. This is something I'm very fond of, as most flatwounds are round core and much looser in general. I prefer hex-core because I have better control over hex-core strings.

My experience from least to most tension flats:

TI 344 > Labella 760FLs > Chromes > Fender 9050Ms

Got a set of Labella Jamersons on the way. They are supposed to be super high tension. Wonder if the Fender 9050M (which I am currently using) will be less or more.

Get the TI 344s from the Dude over at the dudepit forum or juststrings.com. Ti 344s are the lowest tension flats known to humankind!

No I just asked the local shop for the stock of any bass flatwound strings.....I think I won't order d'addario chromes because of its high tension. I'm planning to put it on my new Hofner CT bass. sb said its neck is vulnerable with strings at high tension. Any idea?
