Bass-maker strings

Hey, what are everyone's opinions on bass maker strings? I tend to think that they are not as good as companies that specialize in strings, but I also find it hard to believe that a company like, say, Fodera would put bad strings on their basses (BTW, I've got a GTBD-7 coming with Fodera Diamond strings on it). I haven't tried Fenders, but few people seem to use them. Thoughts?

Being a jazz bass player myself, I absolutely loathe Fender Super Bass strings. That being said, I haven't tried too many types of strings, because as of now I am very satisfied with Rotosound Swing 66's, but my general thought on the matter is that strings made by string specialists will most likely be better than strings made by instrument specialists.
