Pros: Smooth feel, smooth tone, sound EXCELLENT with a pick AND with fingers, G-string has plenty of beef (I hate tinny guitar strings on my bass)
Cons: Sticky and awkwardly bright when new, a little expensive. Both are non-issues, as they stay on my bass for long time

| | | | $50 strings to a guy who does 4-5 gig a month are not gonna work. boomers or d'addario's do the trick. I also like dunlops. $20 and under. d'addario chrome's flats, buy them once they last forever. I don't see paying what I'll make at the gig on strings. Its like those $85 cables the guy at the bar can't hear the diff. |

They sound like deadened rounds, but crystal clear and sweet. They are really nice feeling to my fingers, and the lower tension makes it a breeze to play and I never have to dig hard. They will also last through the Apocalypse.

You can get 4 sets for $36 shipped! Can't beat $9 a set for Dunlops |

They're bright enough for rock and metal but they don't have the fret noise and constant breakage of stainless steel. I played Blue Steel ML's for a long time (mostly because I didn't know any better) and they'd be dead by day 5 and broken by week 2.

| | Registered User | | | | Sadowsky Blue Label Stainless Steel. These strings are awesome!!! I was a die hard Ken Smith string fan for use on my Smith bass. The problem with the Smith strings is that eventhough they sound fantastic at first, they are dead in 2 weeks. I have been using the Sadowsky strings for over a month and they still sound great!!! They also feel great as well. I am definitely going to order more Sadowsky's and my string experiment is over as far as my Smith bass is concerned!!!
