BEAD and being green

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently found that I like tuning my bass to BEAD. Sounds awesome in the band I am in. I also have never really liked wasting stuff and buying stuff that I am not going to use. Being Green to most people these days. Anyways. Is there a string company that sells BEAD string sets? Oh yeah. Flat wound? Maybe singles. I guess I can recycle the left over high g from a 5er set.

Any thoughts?

I use a 5 string set, and either keep the extra G's for spares, or give them away. After all, it's the most likely string to break. I'm using a set of Slinky's with a .125 B string, and had to file my nut down to make it work. I'm a HUGE fan of a 4 string BEAD bass.

:: sigh on the excessive green trend ::

Buy whatever you need, sell what you're not using here. Price it affordably and someone will buy it.

:: sighon the excessive negative vibes that I am going to ignore ::

anyways...

Rickenboogie...Giving them away sounds like a great idea. You know what...My sister inlaw works at a shelter for homeless kids and they are trying to get together a music room. I could give them to her for the kids. Not only green... but some what, a kind and selfless act.

Thanks.

If you really want green - get some DR "Evergreen" coated strings.

If going green.. don't change your strings.

You can buy singles.

Yep, going flatwound is as green as it gets, since you never have to change strings!

Call Gary at GuitarX.com

He hooked me up with a set of TI flats, custom length and gage for my Dingwall AB1 for not much scratch. He will get whatever you want at the best price IMO.

Some of these string sets from Circle K that could be used as BEAD.

Good luck. Waste not, want not.
