BEAD strings???

Does anyone know were you can get stings like this? I am converting my old bass to be tuned BEAD and was wondering were you can fins strings like this??

You buy a 5 string set and don't use the high G.

yea I thought about that but didn't want to waste the G.. Not sure what to do with it

It would be cheaper than ordering a custom set and you could get any type of string you wanted. I'm sure there are manufacturers that offer a set like that, but you would be limited to only what they offer.

You can always find a use for a new G string...

I'd recommend a higher gauge - go too thin and we're talking cheesewire...

Hmmm I am thinking no.. as the strings I use are Ernie Ball Slinkies... and they are about $20 bucks...

now to find a use for the G string....lol

Rotosound makes "Drop Zone" which can be gauges .135-65, or 175-85 I think.

Several of the older members here can instruct you on what to do with a G string.

Best left to PM's so the younger crowd is not offended and exposed to G string uses not fully intended for bass guitar.
