bends & strings???

im currently using a pair of heavy gauge bass boomers on my ibanez bass, now i cant hit bends properly, they just dont sound or the string is incredibly strong to bend. is this normal or are my fingers weak?? are there bass strings that are easier for bends??

Heavy strings are harder to bend than lighter strings. I'd try a set of lighter strings.
