Best Buy stocking more strings, at lower prices?

Sign in to disble this ad
The local BB used to stock only 1 kind of bass strings: Ernie Ball Super Slinkys, $20. I noticed today they've added EB Regular Slinkys and D'Addario something or others (Nickel Rounds?). The best part is the prices: $16 for the EBs and $20 for the D'Addarios. If you like those strings, those are pretty good prices.

They also had more regular guitar strings than they used to.

Just sharing info.

Cool to hear - hoping all the BB's start this . . . the one by me sucks! no MI and if there is 3 of something it's likely 2 are broke and the 3rd was ripped open and is missing half it's contents . . .

I know convenience is king for the modern consumer but I would much rather support a mom & pop shop or an online retailer run by musicians instead of another massive retail chain. As always, IMHO, YMMV, AEIOU and sometimes Y.

Eh, its still quite a bit cheaper to get the D'Addario twin packs online, and they don't cary any five string sets. Besides, I don't need a sales pitch for Monster HDMI cables when I buy strings.

I agree with this 100%!! I usually buy in bulk (which saves $) and look out for specials (BOGO's rule!).

I like that idea!

Sometimes it is hard to get out to a store, easier to just get something in the mail.

Best Buy for every $250 spent, they give $5 back in Reward Zone coupons
Bass Strings Online for every $100 spent, we give $5 back toward a future purchase

Thank you for good idea's Best Buy!

Was at my local BB today, saw Daddarios for $16 in .100 and .105. EB's were like $10.

It's still good information to have if you're in a pinch and need strings when all the music stores are closed. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, but what if the mom and pop store charges more, and is run by asshats?

I have noticed the 45-100 EB strings for $16 at my local Best Buy, too. In the past all they have had are off brand GHS strings.
