Best gauge strings to use for Drop C tuning?

I have a Schecter 5 string bass and my band is starting to play in total Drop C tuning... What advice would you give on the strings to get? I believe I need heavier strings as when I play, it sounds sloppy... Please advise... Thanks!

If it's a five string, then you really don't really need to tune down IMO. I'd suggest getting 50-135 strings to tighten up your playing.

I was thinking of doing that, but thought it might put to much tension on the neck??

What do you think?

If the notes you play sound sloppy down-tuned, and easy solution is to just play BEADG and use the C,G,C and F fretted notes as open notes. If regular tuned your strings sound floppy, then raise the string gauge, or bump the mids and play near the bridge.
