Sign in to disble this ad
HI,

Im going to be recording in California in a few months and need to buy strings in bulk for both guitar and bass on the net, based in California. (Im form the UK) I was wondering if somebody could shed some light on where the best place is to get them from, and has the cheapest or best deals.

Thanks

If you're going to buy them on the Net, then why does the company have to be located in California? The whole idea of an Internet business model is that the company could be located almost anywhere...

Are you aware of JustStrings.com?

If Guitar Center or Sam Ash carries your brand then you're in luck. Those things are all over the place.

If you're going to be in LA then Bass Exchange in the valley close enough to North Hollywood will order whatever you need without the Guitar Center 'atmosphere'. Or West LA Music in Santa Monica. In LA you need to know where you're going because it can take an hour to get from one side of the city to the other.

Also, orders from Bass Northwest in Seattle will arrive in CA within a couple of days with cheap ground shipping - you can always pay extra though. FedEx will overnight a gross of strings from Bangladesh if you want.

All of that info can be found online.

Good Luck

If you're ordering from the net, I'd order from somewhere outside of CA to avoid the sales tax. Even though you are SUPPOSED to claim it on your taxes.

+1 for the Bass Exchange in Sherman Oaks. They have 20x more bass strings to choose from than the Guitar Center down the street. Tiny shop, great people.
