Best Roundwounds for Harmonics

Sign in to disble this ad
I just can't seem to get a decent sounding harmonic out of my fender jazz. My ibanez has DR Lo Riders that provide AMAZING harmonics, but there are other things about the string that I can't stand.

Could anyone reccomend a different string with great harmonics for a jazz?

Thanks a lot.

For harmonic content, the only strings I've found that even come close to steel Lo Riders are D'Addario Pro Steels. They're voiced differently, however, and are not as satisfying (to my ear at least). Rotosound roundwounds have pretty good harmonics, too, but feel coarse, almost sticky.

I would suggest trying prosteels, I tried them recently and they provide the most defined sound I've heard from any set of strings. that includes Dr Hi-beams, roto's swing66's. D'addario says it has something to do with the strings being more magnetic than other brands. I don't know if it's true but let me tell you those strings picks everything you do.
