it really depends on what kinda frequency range you are looking for. I would check out rotosounds though for a good midrangy growl which is pretty important for punk. The thing about rotosounds though is they dont get the best low end punch but besides that i love them. I use them on most of my basses except my warwick which has DR lowriders on them. The DRs get a nice full range clean sound. Maybe Ernie Balls?
