best strings on a 70s jazz bass for disco/funk

I may be getting a 70s jazz bass soon and I want to find a set of strings that has a nice bite to them, but also maintains a full and punchy bottom end. An example of what i mean by "bite" would be, say, "Forget Me Nots" by Patrice Rushen

I iknow were you're going and I suggest Ken Smith Slicks. They sound chunky and flatwound until you goose 'em. Cheap too.
