Best strings for fingerstyle 'punch'?

Sign in to disble this ad
I need an aggressive set of strings. I have DR fat beams on my bass right now, i like them alot. Im just wondering if there are any better strings out there

I try to avoid rotosound since they eat my frets

I play finger style and like DR, Dean Markley and Curt Mangan. Thomastik and Alembic make some great strings but they are more expensive.

Have you tried any Compression Wounds?

Ken Smith - COMPRESSORS

When I put these on my P-Bass the sound is stronger and punchier...

Have you tried Lo-Riders? I find them more aggressive than hi beams. More mids and not as polite.
