best strings for jazz?

i am looking for good strings for jazz and at what gauge would be more suitable, i've never used any other strings beside the ones that originally came with my yamaha so i never had any experience

Standard gauge nickels work well, or flats.

Hands down, TI Flats (unless you slap) I was playing at a jazz jam session where there were many bassists but I was the only one with flats. My walking tone and solo tone were so much jazzier where as everyone else was grinding away like they were in Rush. These strings are expensive, but last for years. check em out buy doing a search in this thread. Cheers!
