Best strings for Lakland Darryl Jones DJ4

Sign in to disble this ad
Just picked up a DJ4. Always used Hi Beams or Lo Riders on my Thunderbird with great success, but I put a set of Lo Riders steels on the Lakland tonight and they sound not the best( a bt zingy) and there was loads of fret buzz that wasn't there on the old strings. There is sufficent neck relief and I backed the rod off just a bit more to give a little extra relief, but still a crazy amount of buzz.

Any suggestions why the substantial buzz and maybe what yoyu would recommend as a good string for this bass for rock and blues rock style of music.
