Best strings for maple-neck Jazz bass?

Just looking for suggestions for my SX SJB57.

This is about as personal a choice as it gets. Try a bunch of strings. DR's and D'addarios are my favorites but that doesn't help you much. Round wounds are the "modern sounding strings" and work great on any neck and any wood. If you want an authentic early 60's sound, go with flat wounds. Ask a hundred players what strings are the best and you will get a hundred opinions. Buy some different strings and find out what you like.

i got a maple on maple jazz neck on a p bass and DR's are the only way ill go.

My '77 Jazz with maple neck sounds feckin' sweet with DRs, but I'd still suggest trying out a few different brands. It is just an opinion after all, even if it is shared by everyone who hears/plays my bass.
