I have a gig soon and I want to get new strings (gotta get them early to break them in) and I was wondering what kind would be absolutely best.
Were a hard metal band and I play hard wicked sweet deep parts. Lemme know!

DR is nice, too, Hi Beams or Lo-Riders work very well. Although in the end, it's all about your gear, playing style and personal preference. E.g. Hi Beams sounded dull and lifeless on my Iceman (two humbuckers) while Skull Strings totally rock on that thing. Then again, Skull Strings are a bit overbright for my P bass (P+J) but that not a problem, after all there's a tone knob for that.

Anything that has a good bit of brightness that can cut through the mix whilst keeping a low presence. I've yet to try anything suggested in this thread so far.
