Best strings to slap with on a MIM Fender Jazz

Sign in to disble this ad
Looking to get some new strings for my MIM Fender Jazz. I am looking for any thoughts on what is the best strings to put on my MIM Fender to slap with? I currently have the stock strings.
Thinking about the SS DR LoRiders?
Other thoughts?

There is nothing quite like the sound of a jazz bass strung with ss rounds!

And the SS DR Loriders are a great string. A bit more of a "character" than the high beams, or even Roto SwingBass'. Plus they last for a long time, and clean up (alcohol or boiling water) better than most. They have been my favorites for my jazz bass since '92.

DR makes good rounds , the string you should try is Dunlop rounds , it is a bright and snappy string, low tension, and will "wake up" any bass. I used Roto's for many years still a good string , but a little rough on the frets over time.
