Best strings for slap and pop

Sign in to disble this ad
I need something that give a "good, tight" tone with the slap and a "crisp, detailed" pop for my 35" scale stiletto studio

I was thinking Peavey strings but someone recommend some Dr strings or something. What do you recommend?

Slap Happy

My favorite slap strings:

- DR Hi-Beams
- Rotosound Swing Bass RS66s

Both are stainless steel. I absolutely do NOT like the sound of nickel strings in slap/pop, unless you've got a maple fingerboard.

New strings - just make sure it's new strings so you get the response that makes it easier to slap and pop. As for different brands - I really don't know - when it comes down to it, it's a matter of taste.
