I've owned quite a few rays, and to me, the best sounding strings on them are the ones they come with, Ernie Ball Slinkys. It's a bonus that they are pretty cheap.

This is the one bass I'll say Ernie Ball Slinkies for, however, I've liked them plenty with D'Addario XL's and ProSteels as well.

+1.76

I tried them all and came back to the Ernie Balls.

For my tastes, I'd go with something decidedly less "zingy" than, say, Pro Steels. To me, the 'Ray has MORE than enough zing to need anything like Pro Steels or any other similarly wound stainless steel string.

I have DRs on mine and, though my 'Ray currently has Highbeams, I prefer the Lowbeams on the 'Ray (and I normally don't like nickel strings).

Currently using Lo riders. Generally steel round wound strings will do you well on this beast.

+1.
I've found this to be true on Sterlings and SR-5's as well.

Slinkys and Hi-beams both work great, I prefer the high beams since the greater flexibility makes fingerstyle more comfortable for my when playing over the pickup. I use stiffer strings on a P-bass since my plucking tends to be farther up over that pickup where the feel will be softer. Going with a softer string on the ray means the transition back and forth is easier. I also really love the hi-beam slap tone.

I was a Regular Slinkies user - but I have also popped some D'addario Nickels (roundwound) on my 'Ray and they sound pretty great too.

Subjective topic - I'd say you can't go wrong with EB Regular Slinkies - but you probably can't "go wrong" very easily here - just about any popular brand of roundwound string will sound great on a Stingray.
