what are the brightest black coloured strings around?

preferably cheap aswell.

i love black. like bright. hate flatwounds.

you're best bet are DR's. The DR black beauties are amazing.

They are spendy though..

yeah i had a look at them and what put me off were the price.. any other ideas people?

I use DR black beautys on my SX(my avatar) and DR red devils on my new Yamaha

those strings have become my favorite strings out there. The gauge is right up my alley, they feel great, and sound fantastic..

And lets be honest there cool looking as well.. Just a bonus.

+100 on the DR Black beauties.. love 'em.. been using them on all my electrics for the last couple years.. that coating DR uses does the job, and strings do ineed last longer and sound brighter, IMO.

Another vote for the DR's.

I've had a set of Red Devils on for about 4 years, while they're certainly not particularly bright anymore, they're in a lot better shape than most other coated or non-coated strings would be.

I'm actually, right now, ringing around stores to find someone with a set of Black Beauties in stock...

Vent: I was told the DR distributer for Australia is in Brisbane, how is then that nobody stocks anything more than Hi Beams?
