Black Beauties for a 6'er

I was just wondering how DR black beauties are on 6'ers. I'll be doing a bit of everything nothing too specific. Maybe finger-style, chordal and tapping will outweigh slap tho'

Perhpas the best way is just to buy a set and see how they are ?

I have them in my roscoe SKB3006 and love them....NOT for everybody though!. They are more "tame" and mellow than stainless steel and the feel is very different. Some people feel they are tacky...

I am wanting something mellow, not a lot of edge or bite. I suppose for the likes of tapping it is in the action of the bass more so than the strings ?

For taping I find that a very low action with a firm touch are key to a good sound. Black beaties are good for me. Some people like the "zing" associated with tapping. I prefer a mellow sound that swells up and sustains, which I can accomplish with the black beauties. Also, I like a very stiff neck (Roscoe anyone?) with very little relief.
