Black Diamond Round Wound Vs.

Sign in to disble this ad
For anybody that has played the black coated black diamond strings, I'd like to know if there is any non-black coated rounds that feel like those. I played them at a store the other day and they just felt so crisp and open. Does black diamond's other round wounds feel / sound like those? The black coated is just so pricey for a 5-string set. any other strings that feel like those? thanks for any help

I haven't played the Black Diamonds, but there are a lot of other coated strings that feel slick out there...

There are some black ones that feel slick too.

Not sure the coating on those, but is it a black polymer like the Rotosound Nexus maybe?

Black Diamond makes all sorts of guitar strings. Some are coated and some are non-coated. Their strings actually are quite great. Great sound and long lasting. I believe if you go to their wesbite you can see all the different types of strings they make. They also manufactur all their strings right here in the USA. You can actually order off their website as well. Black Diamond Guitar Strings . Hope you find what you are looking for.

Ernie Ball and D'Addario make them.
Coated Black Diamonds sometimes
sound weak. Some basses don't do
well with them.

I had to put a set on three different
basses before they sounded good.

But, when they sounded good, they
sounded very good.

That is my experience. I am sure others
may not see it that way,
