Bob's String Evaluations

These are my subjective evaluations. I favor flats over rounds.

Overall Favorite:
Labella Deep Talkin Bass - for tone, and feel, these are super!

Best Value:
Fender 9120 black tapewound - really impressed by how good these are, and so much less expensive! Similar to rounds in tone, without the string noise

Excellent:
Labella black tapewound - more subdued, lovely tone than the Fender's
D'Addario Chromes - bright sound for flats, tight, hard feel
Rotosound Jazz 77s - robust tone, very playable
Rotosound TruBass 88s - just as advertised, good for that specific sound

Dislike:
DR Black Beauties

do you have trouble finding chromes? GC is back ordered for a month and no store I have gone into has them in stock.

I've never had a problem getting my hands on Chromes.

Which set do you use? ECB81's?

They're certainly available online.
