Boosty strings

Since no one here seems to use them, thought I'd post that I have some of the DR Bootsy 45's on the way.
This is going on my recently aquired ATK 300 which came with Rotosounds on it (puke). I just tried a set of Marcus Millers, but was unimpressed.
For the past 10 years I have been using Dean Markley SR2000's, so needless to say my standards are pretty high.

I'll let ya'll know what I think

I have a set on my Musicman, I like them but I'm just going to put Hi-Beams back on it. I have no problem with them the Hi'Beams are just easier for me to get.

I really don't have anything clever or cool to put here.
Yeah!, It only took me 6 years to become a supporting member.

Lowend65, if you like the SR2000, I'm afraid you may be disappointed with the Bootzillas. They sound like very broken in DR Lo-Riders to my ear (on a Fender Jazz bass). They are not bright and aggressive sounding like the Dean Markley SR2000 at all. By the way Lowend65, what didn't you like about the DR Fatbeams?

Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike the MM's, but they were not breathtaking. It seems like they went dead very fast.
I'm used to getting a little more than a month outta SR2000's

I just put a set of Bootsys on my Kingston Heir and, so far, I really like them. I like the "broken in" sound any way as zingy strings aren't my thing. Still, these sound great for slap on the Heir, at least so far.

I think I have them on my 'vette right now. I say "think" because I've had them on there for two years and they still sound brand new...you be the judge.

Finally installed the strings...
Initial impression, these seem to have a little more piano ring to them than the Marcus Millers. The sound is brighter than I expected, but more mellow than hi-beams
The coating feels really good on my hands.

These are 45-105's and I usually play Will Lee's 47-107 so I wonder if part of the comfort is the smaller gauge.
More later after I take the bass back to the studio for some pounding

The DR Bootsy's are just SS Low Riders with a coating on them. If you like Low riders you should like these they just sound a little duller but last a long time.

Put the setup through my full stage setup last night.
Man those are agressive sounding strings... as in really. It sounded like I was absolutely pounding on the instrument the whole night. This is a good thing.
I'll buy these again
