Which brand make the lowest tension Nickel rounds?

Im looking for a 040-100 set with a loose/light feel, thanx

My personal favorite are Fodera's. Hard to beat those. Much better than Sunbeams.

Lowest tension?

Ernie Ball hands down. Like playing on rubber. I can't stand it.

I really like TI Jazz Rounds in that dept, though other players might think they're too low tension.

40-100? Low tension? Flexible?

Sunbeams.

+1 to sunbeams

the rickenbacker strings feel pretty loose, nice growl though

petrus61 01-08-2013 07:09 AM

You basically want to look for strings that have a round core. These tend to have more "flex" to them. Sunbeams are roundcore and are my favorite round because of the low tension.

DUNLOPS

Must they be that gauge?

TI Jazz Rounds are in a class by themselves as far as slinkiness and low tension.

+1 on the Dunlops.

+2 on the Sunbeams... For lower tension/more flexibility, round core strings (ex: Sunbeams) top hex core strings (ex: Dunlops) all day long.
