Bright Flats For A Fretless?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm almost done defretting my Squier MB-4, and I'm going to need to buy some flats to put on it. What are some bright sounding flats that won't eat up the fingerboard?

Chromes and TI's. If you're afraid of the strings eating the fretboard you could try some elixir rounds too, if you like rounds. They work amazingly well of fretless.

Well, I really like Elixers, but I wanted to try some flats since it's a fretless.

D'Addario makes Chromes, but who makes the TIs?

If I may expound, he's referring to Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats. They ain't cheap but they're just wonderful for fretless and will last seemingly forever.

Then I think I'm going with the Chromes.

I just bought some Elixers for my Dean, so I don't have money for another $50 set of strings.

Thanks for the Chromes suggestion.

I just finished defretting, and they sound pretty good.
