Bright, zingy strings that feel like nicklewounds?

I normally use Ken Smith Burner nickelwounds which are bright and zingy but not as much as I'd like on non-spector basses which are naturally super bright. So what strings could fit the bill and feel like nickelwounds (can't dig the feel of SS)?

Aren't those stainless steel? He wants nickels.

If you want "zing" I'd suggest Rotosounds, I use them on my Spectors. They do go dead quicker - I change my on my main bass every 3-4 months - so maybe those wouldn't work too well. I got my last sets for under $15 set, so even changing a lot, it's still not so bad.

That all said, I'm trying Hi Beams next.

I can totally recommend Cleartones. This things are amazing - to the extent that I've questioned whether or not they're actually nickel. Very smooth feel, but plenty of zing and brightness. I tried a set on the suggestion of my local music store guru, and I've just been blown away. One of their key marketing points is durability, and I can vouch for that too. I've been gigging one of my basses heavily for a month now, and these things - remarkably - still sound new.

After all the usual suspects, I've gone to Circle K Strings. Partly because they address lower tunings and have great tension and tone balance across the neck, but largely because I get great life out of them and they seem to maintain the top well after the initial break-in.

I guess you weren't clear enough there, Kwesi. +1 for the DR highbeams. I switch back and forth between fretted w/highbeams and fretless w/sunbeams and they both feel really similar, at least to me.
