Brightest longest lasting string?

Sign in to disble this ad
Alrighty, so I love the sound of ernieball nicole super slinkies brand new, however they have bad life, so I tried some stainless rotosounds, they were bright forever, I just prefered the .100gauge and the rotosounds came in .105.. So I buy a pair of stainless slinkies and they were duller than Nickle slinkIes NEW. What else should I try?

I do agree that d'addario strings are a much better choice than ernie ball strings. I do recommend d'addario strings. I also would recommend either dr strings or dunlop strings.

elixir. they are BRIGHT for a long time.

the last pair of strings i bought were prosteels, and while they were pretty bright, they were dead within a month. no zing, no definition, just weak sounding strings like all the rest. they were great for the gig i used them for. by the next one, they sounded like EB strings.

my first set of elixir strings last a year easy and sounded bright and alive for most of that time. my low B started to go (even though the other strings still had life) and i replaced them. no case, heavy use.

im not a fan of roto's but i put a set of roto nexus (they are 105 though) on my B2 and they are really bright and feel like they will stay that way for a while.

i had a set of status strings on it before (the ones that came with it) for two years yeah im cheap, but they didnt get flat/dull sounding till about 4 month ago

i use to play dr high-beams. and those were super bright, and last about a month. but at $30 a set, or whatever it is now, I switched to d'addario, which arent quite as bright, but have about the same life for about half the price. Ghs ive never been a fan of... honstly, ive never found a string that stays bright for longer than a month.
