Bronco strings?

Any advice for my little bronco?

Im guessing it can only use short scale strings yea?

Yep. Short scale... Mine is currently wearing Chromes short scale in Drop C. Not too floppy... Quite tolerable. Probably helps that Chromes are higher tension anyway. Of course would be much better standard tuned or Drop D even. That is if you even like flats. lol

I do like flats a lot!

Was looking at staying with rounds but ill look into those

Short scale basses seem to need a little more care in string selection to not sound "tubby".
My favourite set I've used on my Bronco (much modified) are D'Addario singles.
.105 "E" (Short Scale)
.075 "A" (Short or Medium scale will fit)
.055 "D" (any scale will fit fine)
.040 "G" (any scale will fit fine)

The reason behind the odd gauges is for increasing tension from skinny to big.
"normal" short scale strings have way too little tension on the "E". And you can't correct the issue by buying a stock set that includes a .105 "E". The other strings will be too heavy.

I don't use this little bass very often--usually just noodling around at home or on gigs when the 'ol arthuritis is acting up. But it's a great sounding little bass. Now....
