Hi low end comerades !

I thinking on going C F Bb Eb on my 35" Dearmond bass. Got a set of Dean Markley Blue Steel strings and tune it B E A D, everything worked out fine but my B is floppy and i like higher tension !

Opinions ?

Thanks !

I've done it and definitely prefer it to down tuning strings.

I personally tune to C, F, A#, D# - nothing too adventurous.

I generally use a 4 string set, with the C at about 115 or 110.
I generally like my strings a little bit loose, but taut enough to get a good action - so my bends are freaking huge!
I prefer not to use a 5 string set, as it may need you to file down the nut to get the right string/fret height down low on the fretboard.

It will greatly depend on the strings you choose as to how floppy they are - and also on how high up you tune them.
Try not tuning above your desired tuning, otherwise you may make the strings flooooopppy as mud.

+1 I tune one bass BEAD, with a .125 B string. Yes, had to file my nut a little, but it's no big deal, and I now have a very solid low B.
