Can Sadowsky flats be strung through body?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone know if Sadowsky flats can be strung through body, or are they through bridge only, like LaBella flats? I've got a set on the way, and I certainly don't want to break my new strings.

I also get nervous about my string ferules falling out when I string through bridge.

Great strings. I wouldn't chance it.

I think the Sadowsky flats are tapered. If that's the case I think it would be ok.

Email them. I have asked Sadowsky a couple email questions in the past, and they have always responded right away.

It probably depends on the bass.

Yes, e-mail them. I would be curious to hear the answer myself since I just bought and strung my new MIA P Bass with Sadowsky flats. The E broke right at the saddle, but since my bass is new, I am taking it to a luthier to make sure I don't have a burr or something else that might cause the strings to break.

Confirmed from the man him self.

He does not recommend stringing the Flatwound Strings through body.

Okay...but I will get a similar (or worse!) bend at the tuning post 'cause the length is a bit too long for my bass, 34" scale P.

I'll let you know if it breaks!
