Wash my hands everytime before playing, wipe them off every time after playing, takes 10 seconds, sometimes I used fast fret spray, mostly when my hands' skin is dry. Thats it.

I also wash my hands before playing. I give the strings a good IPA rubdown weekly.

Just wipe them (and the bass) down with a micro fiber cloth after playing.

I generally do wash my hands before playing. If it's hot/humid and my hands are sweaty, I'll use a cotton cloth to dry my hands and wipe the strings & neck. And about once every 2 or 3 months I take the strings off and soak them overnight in denatured alcohol.

One of my sets is ~12 years old. They've been on and off a few different basses (string junkie here), and I've never done anything to them but play them. They are fine, and they feel/sound pretty much the same as my younger four year old and one year old TI sets.

Maybe I'll wipe them down. That's it, and they are getting old, couple years on each bass.

Same here. With TIs somtimes it takes a change in basses to get just the right sound and setup IMO.

My hands are always (very) dry. So they don't affect the strings in a chemical way. As I don't like the sight of dust and dirt, I regularly clean the fretboard and the area around the pick ups with a soft brush, removing dust and skin residue. To prevent the strings from becoming sticky, they are being cleaned with alcohol about every other week.

Today I had to take care of my TI flat:

Broke th G last night :/

And thats the only thing (beside tunning) you have to do when you put them on your bass :]

Ha - my G is tied to an acoustic guitar low E string because of a break. It is surprisingly stable so I don't anticipate replacing it. Pretty ghetto looking though, your's is a lot less noticeable than mine.
