Carvin 5 String LB75 I Need New Strings ???

Sign in to disble this ad
Just picked up Carvin LB 75, 2006 model looks like never played. seems like the orginal roundwounds are onthere. Sounds okay but I know I need to renew them Very nice Neck thru Jet Black Beautiful piece. I wonder if I should change out the original round wounds to Thomastik Infield Jazz Roundwound or Flats.

I am blues player and have D'addarios, Fender Stainless etc....
Heard so much about Thomastiks also I wonderhow they will work with the Active sounding Bass.

I realize it is all about sound quality, I have James Jamersons on my PJ they are very nice. Love the sound.

Please anybody out there, who can chime in help out with decisions.

you only need new strings when you THINK you need new strings. the quality of the sound of your strings is only as good as you think it is. Of course, if a string breaks it is better to replace all of them so they are all warn evenly (IMO).

FWIW, I have TI Jazz Flats on one of my LB70s, and I really like the tone for Blues.
