Carvin Strings Customer Service

I need to do a shout out here for the CS folks at Carvin.

I ordered 2 sets of strings (1 Nickel, 1 tapewound) from them for a 5 string fretless. I received the strings 2 days later on New Year's Eve afternoon. I immediately installed the tapes, and the D was bad (rattle). I called them that same afternoon, and they were super nice, apologized and sent another new set of tapewounds. Just like that. The call lasted maybe 3 minutes. I got them on Jan 2nd.

The strings ship from San Diego, and I'm just up the road in LA, but regardless, they treated me like a King! Not only are they great strings (La Bellas in this case), they are also half the price of elsewhere. Just make sure and order enough to offset the $9.50 flat rate shipping...

So huge props for the Carvin Customer Service folks!

And I love the tapewounds on the fretless!

I like hearing positive things about customer service. I also have heard positive comments re: Carvin strings. Love to try a set but the S/H is prohibitive unless one is buying multiple sets. Not a good idea especially if they turn out to be real dogs (sorry, Carvin fans!).

That being said, if somebody has a spare 34" 5 string set to sell and would be willing to mail (< $4.50), please let me know. Technically, this belongs in the "WTB" forum but I'll take my lumps for the transgression.
