hey, my band is covering queens of the stone age

only problem is i have my marcus miller jazz

is there anyway to get a 4 string into cgcf without swapping the strings or losing all intonation?

Sorry if my rather uninformed opinion sounds kinda harsh..

But aren't those like 2 of the 3 steps for changing your tuning? It's like...first you change the strings, then you tune it up and set the intonation and last tune it again..

If you take out the string swapping and intonation all you have left is...


...Tune it down.

No.

You'll need thicker strings (I used to use 50-110 gauge) and obviously you'll have to set up your bass anew.
