Changing to flats

I'm considering making the switch from rounds to flats. Right now I play Rotosound Rotobass .050-.110 since I prefer thicker strings. I have a couple sets of strings in consideration but I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what gauge to buy?

I use La Bella flats on both my Ibanez soundgear and Jay Turser violin bass. I love the tone on both but found it's a little harder to slap which I do a good deal of but it works just fine. Flats are the best if you ask me, just my 2 cents

I might be crazy (might?) but I've always played 45's (rounds) and when I put flats on one of my P's I almost feel I should've went down in size a little. They felt a tad too thick (roto's btw) but I've grown used to them.

I'd start at what you know you're comfortable w/ and go from there . . .

Though it'd be nice to avoid nutwork, I'd go for a particular tone & let the gauge be whatever it is.
