changing guages without getting setup

I bought the wrong guage string for my 30in short scale bass. it had .040s on it and i bought .045s. i'm broke and my bands got a show friday, so do i need to cet my bass set up for these strings or can i just throw them on?

you might need to tighten your truss rod depending on your neck, but you'll definitely have to adjust your intonation...shouldn't be much of an adjustment, though
