Changing Strings On A New Bass.

Sign in to disble this ad
Is it always a must? Or is it possible that some stocks strings sound good? The reason I ask is because I got some fender 7250s for my Thunderbird, but haven't put them on yet. Mostly because I'm not sure if its going to change the sound a whole lot or not, I haven't realy had experience with fender, or gibson strings yetso I figured I'd get some opinions.

Thanks,
Nathan

Stock strings can be very good. If you like them, leave them on.

I still have the stock Fender rounds on my four year old Fender Precision. Haven't changed 'em yet because they still sound fine.

typically stock strings are decent quality. The manufacturers get good volume pricing, which makes them inexpensive for them, but not necessarily inferior. Some of the strings on the Korean and Chinese instruments seem to sound ok but die a sudden and rapid death. I'd leave the strings on as long as you are satisified with the sound and feel.....if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

All of that realy helps, I guess I realy just didn't know if changing the strings was going to improve the sound, even though I love how it sounds now I was just curious
