Choose my next set of strings (maybe)
So I've got a MIA P with a Dimarzio Model P. Genz Benz head, Euphonic Audio on the way. Fearful cab cause I like really loud and clear lows. I play a kind of world beat influenced folkish something or other, occasionally we get kind of heavy too.
I've had TI Flats on the bass since I got it, less than a year ago. I find they have more mids than I want. No matter how I've messed with my amp and tone control on the bass, I find they cut through when I don't want them to. Not a fan of the higher tension of the D and G either. I feel like I have to attack them harder which gives me even more of the sproingy sound. Not into Chromes either.
Thinking about Labella or Sadowsky for flats. I feel like the Labella might have a little too much bloom for quicker stuff, and on occasion I do take a lead part so I need to growl or bark a little bit.
Also thinking about Fender 7150 pure nickel round. Maybe even Sunbeams or R Cocco NPS.
Anything else to think about or consider?

Try the Fender 9050's stainless steel flat wounds! A great sounding flat with good tension. My favorite string!

Thanks. What do you like about them?

Sunbeams or Fodera nickels! Both are smoother feeling than most other roundwounds and have nice sounding top end. Both of these are round core strings, so they will be low tension and have a 'fuller' tone than hex core strings.
Don't forget, Bass Strings Online has 10% off everything in the store this weekend! www.bassstringsonline.com

Just the way they sound, growl for miles! There has been lots of good things said about these strings here. They have the same tension as the round wounds that are the same gauge. I have rounds on all the rest of my basses but some more might be getting the Fender's!

After a series of coin flips, I ordered the Sadowskys in the standard gauge. Had these on a jazz bass a little while ago any my impressions of the strings were great, but ended up selling the bass so I didn't get to form much of an opinion.
