Chorusey Rotosound 77 E string

Hi
For some reason the E string still didn't settle down on the bass, the bass is well setup and the other string are already sound like they should be

What can be the problem?
Thank you

Danny

I would take a guess that it is only chorusy on the open E rather than all fretted notes...correct? If so it will be the nut being to loose for the string, the chorusy sound would be the string vibrating off the nut.

If it is all fretted notes too there may be something on your bass wrattling against it at the bridge or tuner, or a bad string.

There may be a twist in the E string, or your pickup may be too close to that particular string - E strings are sometimes undertensioned and can do that because of their over emphasized amplitude.

The string is brand new and very tense, what can I do to solve this?

Is this an E string in a 4 string set or a 5 string set?

What kind of bass/bridge do you have and are you going through the body?

It won't be an undertensioned string/pickup issue if this is happening on a 5 string as you would likely get the same thing out of your B string.

4 string on a MIA 95 Precision with the standard Fender bridge
I didn't have that on my previous set (EB Flats)

Are you stringing through the body or through the bridge? Are these a round wound of some sort?

Its probably twisted.

Loosen the string a bit, pull up on it and kind of roll it between your fingers to make sure its not in a bind at all, then let it settle on the saddle and retune.

If you manually wrap the string around the post while the ball end of the string is tight against the bridge or secured in the string ferrule, it will cause the string to "twist" under tension.

Be gentle when restringing, make sure the strings are "seated" comfortably.
