Chromes with...

a BadAss II bridge? Anyone using this combo? Like? Dislike? I am wanting to upgrade my SX bridge but not at the expense of my chrome flatwounds.

I have tried numerous different bridges on several of my basses, including Badass, Gotoh 201, Hipshot. I have never noticed much difference in sound from one bridge to another. Any difference I noticed may have come from power of suggestion.

My advice, keep the bridge and the Chromes in place. I get from your post that you like the Chromes? If so, leave them there.

The Chromes work fine with the BAII. I used that combo on my Squier for a while.

I've been using Chromes on my bass with a notched BAII. The G string seems to have a nice overtone that kills the strings sustain. Quite annoying but I did not set my bass up differently to put chromes on because the guages were similar. My problem might be tied to that.

As far as the bridge, no problems whatsoever with them slipping. They feel great and the bridge holds them well. No problems ever with my BAII, except for the weight.
