| Chromes on a G&L L2000/L2500 - how's the tone?

I've got an L2500 Tribute coming on Wednesday and I know I want either half-rounds or flatwounds on it to tame the bright and add more girth to the sound. I used to have an active Ibanez 5-string that sounded really good with D'Addario Chromes. How would my L2500 Trib sound? I'm sure the tone would be fat, but would it be articulate? How long would the articulateness last, or would it fade? |
