Chromes: What's the highest tension / gage?

Sign in to disble this ad
I checked juststrings.com and as far as I can tell .50 .70 .85 and 105 is the largest gage.

Is that the largest gage made of Chromes?

I have a set of Fender 9050s with similar gage to that above, but I really prefer the tone of the chromes and was hoping to try one gage higher.

I really prefer the lower action high tension strings give.

The 105 Chromes are extremely high tension, much more so than my 105 Labellas. They might have enough tension in that gauge without having to go up a step.

Yeah, the chromes definitely have more tension than Labellas. I prefer the tone of chromes (at this time anyway). As i mentioned I currently have 55 / 70 / 90 / 105 fender 9050s and they are high tension, but I wouldnt say they are extremely so. Just higher than average.

Perhaps the Chromes of the similar gage to the 9050s have more tension than the 9050s?
