Which Circle K 4 String Set for a Fender P Tuned to C#?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I currently have a Fender American Standard P Bass that I tune to C# (or a step and a half down on all stings) and have been using DR DDT Heavy set G-55 D-75 A-95 E-115.

Can anyone recommend a or the correct 4 string Circle K set for me to get to try to match these current string gauges of the DDT's? The DDT's kinda feel like crap when they are new and I want to try Circle K also as an alternative to the DDT's and for this low tuning. Any advice is much appreciated and thanks in advance!

I depends on how heavy you like your strings. For C#, the following sets are usable:

Balanced 136 - Heavy
Balanced 130 - Med/Heavy
Balanced 124 - Medium
Balanced 118 - Med/Light
Balanced 112 - Light

So, if you want to match the gauges, the 118 or 124 are probably what you want.

I'd probably recommend the 130, though. Overall, the tension will be a little higher, but they are flexible strings and should feel about the same as what you use.
