warwick coated strings

I've recently bought a set of those string to put on my thumb BO 5, as I needed tapered strings badly, and those were the only ones available.
I was not impressed at all, i think they are quite sterile sounding, even after being broken in (for reference, I had been using d'addario XL nickel wounds), they sound quite "scooped", as if I were cutting the mids somewhat. They might be good for slap, or to get a clanky kind of sound, but for fingerstyle, they just won't cut it for me.

Cheers

Well, the D'addarios are quite middy (imo). So maybe it was just a big change. I dunno. I didn't even know warwick made coated strings.

Well, I use black labels on my thumb NT because I really love the .135 B (We tune to Bb, so I kind of need the 135 B) and the warwick website says the coated strings are like Black labels, but they live longer.
And since they cost only a bit more, I was interested!
