coating wearing off on black beauties

Sign in to disble this ad
I have only got a few hours on these strings, and when I strung them some of the coating scraped off on the bridge. I have tried to use permanent marker, but that does not fix them.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem, something to re-coat the string so that the metal dose not shine through?

I have black beauties as well and I don't think there's really anything you can do to re-coat the strings. Or even if you do, it won't be worth your time or money because the paint is gonna start chipping off everywhere.

It says on the sheet of paper that comes with the box of BBs that it's natural for the paint to chip off, and that it will not affect the tone, longevity, or anything else about the strings. It's just a purely cosmetic issue.

Yeah it's just cosmetic, the string coating is still there. I know it kinda sucks though...but it's a good excuse to upgrade your bridge! I hate those 'pull string through the hole' bridges
