compare and contrast
Is there much difference between Ken Smith slick rounds and GHS pressure wounds
regarding feel and tone?
EDIT..OOOPS I'M INCORRECT! I was thinking of Ken Smith Compressors.
Ken Smith compressors are pressurewounds. The slick rounds are groundwounds/halfrounds. They'd be comparable to GHS brite flats.
The slickrounds sound like brighter than normal flatwounds and ghs pressurewounds sound like subdued roundwounds with less fingerboise but they're still pretty bright.
is there any sort of tonal side effect with a tapered B String
never mind that question, I find plenty of discussion already on that topic
one of these try it and see for yourself scenarios
thanks for the information
Yah I couldn't comment on the B, but GHS pressurewounds are great. Jason from bassstringsonline likes the Ken Smith pressurewounds. If that's his preference and he has easy access to every bass string on the planet, they must be very good strings.
after a little research
Ken Smith compressor wounds only come with a tapered B string at bassstringsonline
while their slick rounds have 36.5 and 38 inch standard and one tapered B string
GHS no tapered option among these mentioned
and to review
KS compressor wounds are comparable to GHS pressure wounds
KS Slick Rounds are comparable to GHS Brite Flats
KS purple GHS black
