Completely Custom String Winders?

Sign in to disble this ad
Are there any companies out there that will wind a completely custom set of strings? Reason I ask is because I've hacked up a set of strings, 130-100-80-60, to fit on my Samick Mini bass, which is 24" scale, and I'm surprised at how good it sounds and plays tuned to E like a 34" scale bass

Thing is, I cut down the low B (now tuned to E) and tore off some of the winding, and it's taperwound. It sounds really dead and thuddy, plus I'm afraid the thing's gonna explode from having the winding removed.

Does anyone know of a company that could wind me one set, maybe more if it had to be that way, of nickel rounds or flats? Thanks in advance, I know it's a weird question!

I recall seeing an advert in Bass Player magazine about someone that does custom strings for special instruments.
